Ben Nichols

Ben Nichols joined Compass Minerals in November 2004 as sales and marketing analyst and held positions of increasing responsibility until his promotion in March 2018, to vice president, salt, consumer and industrial. In January 2020, he was named vice president, plant nutrition. He has been serving as vice president, commercial, since May 2021. Mr. Nichols was appointed chief sales officer in January 2024 to oversee the sales, product management and marketing functions for the Salt and Plant Nutrition businesses. In March 2025 he was named chief commercial officer and is responsible for all commercial activities related to the Salt and Plant Nutrition businesses, as well as the company’s global supply chain, including customer experience, integrated business planning, logistics and procurement.

Mr. Nichols has a Bachelor of Science in management and marketing from Baker University and a Master of Business Administration from Pittsburg State University.
